APLA and the National Center for Disaster Risk Management (PALDRM) discussing means of joint cooperation

APLA's Executive Director, Abdallah Anati, met with the director of PALDRM, Hassan Abo Al-Eilih, to discuss new horizons and means of joint cooperation. The meeting took place at APLA's headquarters, attended by APLA's Technical and Legal Support Unit Manager, Abdelmo'men Afana, APLA's Activity Coordinator, Shurouq Rabee', and Eng. Amer Jaradat from PALDRM.

 

Abu Al-Eilih gave an overview of PALDRM's key activities and programs, emphasizing the importance of the role played by local authorities concerning Disaster Risk Management (DRM). Moreover, he clarified that enhancing the partnership with APLA will enhance work in this regard, through strengthening the exchange of experiences and expertise between PALDRM and APLA in order to support and develop its capacities in the fields of DRM.

 

Whereas, Anati gave an overview of APLA's roles in drafting and reviewing policies, laws and bylaws, representing local authorities, both locally and internationally, in addition to developing the local authorities' capacities to provide better services to citizens. Anati welcomed the idea of signing MoU between APLA and PALDRM, institutionalizing the relationship between both parties.
