A Workshop Conducted to review and Amend the “Palestinian Construction Law”

A workshop was conducted in cooperation with the Association of Palestinian Local Authority (APLA) in the city of Jericho on the 3rd and 4th of January, 2018 to discuss the system of organizing and building in Palestine for the year 2011. The workshop came as a follow-up of the Technical Hubs' activities in the engineering field and after holding a workshop in the City of Nablus regarding organizing and constructing challenges.

Members of the Follow-up Committee who were elected in Nablus workshop participated in this meeting and they include municipal engineers from Nablus, Hebron, Al-Bireh, Surif, Yatta, Qalqilya, Beit Jala, Beituniya, Qalqilia, and Jenin Municipalities, as well as, the joint cooperation unit in Ramallah, Al-Bireh, and Beituniya municipalities.

During the two-day workshop, the audience went through all the law articles and suggested their amendments based on the municipal engineer's vision and expertise which better serves the interest of the citizen and the municipality.

The workshop was concluded on the 4th of January, 2018 in which all agreed to publish these amendments to APLA and the Ministry of Local Government for review with the support of GIZ's Local Government Reform Program.

The workshop comes amid the Technical Hub's activities in the Local Government Reform and Development Program – GIZ, with APLA's collaboration to exchange expertise and Knowledge among Palestinian Local Authorities.
